Family Photo Friday

Karen and I have spent quite a bit of time digging through old photographs making a slide show to share with the family honoring Grandpa's life. We found so many amazing photographs, including this one. This is my great-grandma a long, long time ago. She passed over 15 years ago at the age of 99 and I always remember her as being the sweet old lady who was at every birthday party I had growing up. It is so neat seeing this younger side of her, and the rest of my family for that matter.

Missing Mom Monday- Week 9

Stopping in to the car dealership to get my car worked on, we came across a very exciting surprise...MATER!!! Connie told me they saw the truck outside the dealership on Easter. But, when I drove by Monday morning, the truck was no where to be seen. Jase spotted him immediately, though as we cut through he parking lot. He was hiding near the back. So, while the mechanic was looking at my car, we took a look at the McQueen's best buddie!

Family Photo Friday

Me and some of my cousins were able to go out for a few drinks this week. Here I am with two of them, Karen and Julie. I am so happy that they live so close to me now. Just 3 years ago Karen was in TN and Julie was in TX. Now they are both with-in an hours drive. I love it!

Family Photo Friday

Today's picture was taken on Easter at the Leapley's cliff over looking the Potomac River at sun set. There is always something romantic about sun sets, especially when they are as beautiful as this one.

Simple Woman's Day

Outside my window... the sun is shining brightly and the breeze is slightly rustling the trees. And it is a perfect 80 degrees :)

I am thinking... that the nature walk me and Brandon took was just what I needed to lift my spirits.

I am thankful for...the time I am getting to spend with my grandpop and for all the memories I have of him.

From the kitchen... you can see birds flying up to the bird feeders. They are beautiful!

I am wearing... brown capris, a black top and flip-flops...Did I mention it is a perfect 80 degree day!

I am reading... Sweet Revenge by Nora Roberts

I am hoping... that my brother and his family make it into town safely. They have a long drive ahead of them today.

I am creating... a slide show with my cousin, Karen, of old photographs of my grandpop to make into a DVD

I am hearing... silence...this doesn't occur often so I am savoring the moment

Around the house... is the aftermath of Easter...empty basket, candy wrappers and all kind of Easter goodies are laying around

One of my favorite things... is spending time with my family. Between Easter and our trips to visit Grandpop in the hospital we have been seeing a lot of family lately, and I love it.

A few plans for the rest of the week...visit Grandpop, visit with my brother, take Jase to the dentist and to enjoy this beautiful weather!
